Together again

Ronald Niemczak and Nancy Niemczak

Ron was born September 1, 1949, in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He attended St. Joseph grade school and Bloom Township High School. He graduated from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. Ron was a gifted and joyful musician, and after graduating college, he spent the next 20 years with various entertainment groups. While touring with The Kicks, (an early 1980's band), in Alaska, he met Nancy. They married July 18, 1983, in Redmond, Washington. Ron would later leave the music industry and work with Premera in the IT Department. Ron is survived by his brother, Stephen (Joann), sister Cynthia (John) Fielding and step-grandchildren Josh and Samantha Loberg.

Nancy was born Nancy Kaye Franklin in Aberdeen, Washington on July 14th, 1952. She was married shortly after high school and later gave birth to Corina (Anderson) Loberg. She began working with Blue Cross of Washington and Alaska in 1982, (later Premera) until April of 2013. During those years, they moved from Redmond to Marysville and enjoyed home projects trips to Italy, Mexico and Chicago. For many years they commuted together to work down I-5.

After retirement, Ron would become Nancy's caregiver when she suffered a stroke, and then later, dementia.

Ron died unexpectedly on April 3, 2023.

Nancy was moved to The Cottages of Marysville. She died April 10, 2026. Even though the passing of each of them is painful, there is peacefulness knowing the happiness they found in each other.

They also cherished every moment with their grandchildren.

They were preceded in death by Corina, Nancy's daughter, Ron's stepdaughter.

Heartfelt thanks to The Cottages of Marysville, who provided daily care and dignity to Nancy throughout her stay. Many thanks also to the Continuum Hospice staff for the end-of-life care.

Nancy will join Ron in Mary's Peony Garden at Holyrood Cemetery.
