Robert Lee Deebach, Sr.

July 21, 1925 — June 18, 2017

Bob passed away just a month from his 92nd birthday, at the home of his eldest son. He was born in 1925, the second child of Walter and Marie Deebach. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois (Anderson), and his brothers Walter Jr. and Thomas Deebach.He grew up in the Alderwood Manor area of Lynnwood, and had many great stories of his childhood and friends. Bob enlisted in the Navy at 17, and served his country on the USS New Mexico. He traveled in the Aleutian, Gilbert, Marshall and Hawaiian Islands, Archipelago Marianas, Leyte, Luzon, Okinawa and Japan. He was a member of VFW Post 1040 (the Walter A Deebach Post), since 1943.Bob was a Union Ironworker, Local 86 member for over 60 years. After retirement, he loved to travel, camp and fish with his family and friends, and occasional trips to the casino.Bob is survived at home by his life-partner Dixie Nelson; his daughter Edith Deebach, son Robert (Megan) Deebach, and son John (Marie) Deebach; his sisters Betty Gaeng and Sally Nichol, and his brother Donnie (Sharon) Deebach. He has three grandsons: Christopher Silhan, Griffin Deebach and Nathan Deebach; one great-grandson, Dylan Silhan; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.There will be a Gravesite service on Tuesday, June 27 at 1:00 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park, 23800 104th Ave W, Edmonds, WA 98020, with a recn following.
