Verna E. Hilde

Our loving mother, grandmother, and friend Verna Hilde, 86, of Edmonds, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Swedish Hospital in Seattle on September 18, 2012.She was born July 22, 1926 in Ulen, Minnesota. She eventually moved to Seattle and married her longtime sweetheart Garfield Hilde in November of 1946.Verna worked as a switchboard operator for the phone company in Richmond Beach and then became a full time mother and homemaker taking care of her family.In her younger days she enjoyed snow skiing, sewing, crocheting, and bargain shopping. She also loved spending time with her family, friends and grand-dog.Verna is survived by her two children Darrell (Terry), Dorriene Stoneman (Bob) and grandchildren Matthew Hilde, Lindsey and Brett Stoneman. She also leaves her sister Clarice Prestegord and brother Ervin Morken both of MN.She is now reunited with her loving husband, sister, brothers and grandson. AFuneral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th Street SW Lynnwood, WA 98036, Saturday, September 29 at 12:30 pm. Recn to follow at the church.
