"Belchertown, Alberta (Grindle) Grout Stone, 91, of Federal Street died Saturday, November 19, at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, February 25, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ethelyn (Walton) Grindle and has lived in Belchertown since 1927. She was a graduate of Belchertown High School and worked as a secretary at Pratt & Whitney for many years before retiring in 1979. She worked for a time at Ware Savings Bank and at the age of 72, she returned to work as a clerk at Heritage Bank in Amherst. Alberta formerly attended the Hope United Methodist Church and was a Past Master of Union Grange #64 in Belchertown. Besides her parents, Mrs. Stone was predeceased by her first husband Karl Grout in 1948, a brother Harry C. Grindle, Jr. in 1976, second husband Ralph Stone in 1996, and her daughter Sondra Grout in April 2005. She will be deeply missed by her son Charles of Belchertown, her four granddaughters, Darlene Sarnelli and her husband Michael of Chicopee, Geraldine St. Pierre and her fiancé Keith of Ware, Joanne Grout and her fiance Rick of Southampton, and Kimberly Grout and Ernie of Belchertown She also leaves 9 great grandchildren Michael, Matthew and Nicholas Sarnelli, Jessica Grout, Marc St.Pierre, Brittany and Jaylynn Grout, Alicia Grout and Maisun Grout-Rollins, nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Sweetie. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, followed by burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 2:00-5:00 pm. For those wishing, donations may be made in her memory to Ware Office Baystate VNA, Mary Lane Hospital, North St., Ware, MA 01082. "
