"Belchertown, Aurelia "Aurie" Balboni, 96, died peacefully on Friday, August 26 at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst. Born on April 17, 1920 she was the daughter of Fredrick and Bertha Balboni. She was the oldest of thirteen children and was raised in Indian Orchard. Aurie resided in Belchertown for many years and was a communicant of St. Francis Church. She was an accomplished seamstress, photographer and retail department manager. Her happiest times were spent with her loving family. She will be forever missed by her daughter, Suzanne Kielbasa and her husband Frederick of Belchertown along with her four cherished grandchildren, Shasta, Kyle, Christopher and Crysta Kielbasa. Her sisters, Arlean, Rose, Vicky, Sr. Mary and Nellie along with many nieces and nephews, who knew her as "Auntie Fig", survive her. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Evelyn, Fred, Alice, Theresa, Pauline, Joseph and George. Her family extends their deep appreciation to care givers at Keystone Woods Assisted Living Facility, and at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst. A calling hour from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1 at Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St. will be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Church. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Indian Orchard. Donations in Aurie's memory may be made to St. Francis Church, 10 Park St. Belchertown, MA 01007.
