"Barbara Jean Foley passed away peacefully at home August 2, 2016 surrounded by her family. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Matthew D. Foley and Eleanor (McDonald) Foley. Barbara loved baking, reading, gardening, her cats and doing alterations for her neighbors in Pine Valley Plantation. Barbara was employed in retail before working and retiring from Wingate in Wilbraham. Barbara was pre-deceased by her daughter, Kathleen (Sullivan) Hermanson and leaves her husband, Philip H. Lafland of Belchertown, daughter, Linda G. Bressette of Belchertown, brother, William Foley of Wilbraham, Step-daughters, Denise Tarbox and Mary LaFland, Step-sons, Michael Lafland, Charles Lafland, Kenneth Lafland and pre-deceased by Donald Lafland. Barbara also leaves grandchildren Kristen LeClair and Eric Hermanson as well as great-grandaughters, Katie Hermanson and Julianne LeClair. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baystate VNA and Hospice, 50 Maple St, Springfield, MA 01103 or the MSPCA. No calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at Pine Valley Plantation, 281 Chauncey Walker St., Belchertown, MA on Monday August 8 at 1pm. "
