"Clarice B. (Vaughn) Phoenix, 80, of Cabot St., died December 9, 2005 at home. Born in Springfield, MA on January 15, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Willard H. and Clara B. (Wood) Vaughn. She grew up in Springfield and moved to Belchertown where she resided until 1979 before moving to South Hadley and most recently Chicopee. Clarice or “Lucky” as she was affectionately know by many, cherished being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Union Congregation Church in Springfield as well as the Belchertown Congregation Church serving as Superintendant and Sunday school teacher for both. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed camping, playing games of chance, crossword puzzles and coffee with friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Robert Phoenix. Sr and her son, Willard "Skip" Phoenix. She will be sadly missed by her 6 children, Robert Jr and his wife Janet of SC, Janet Collina of Chicopee, Joanne Hennessey of Westfield, Howard of Chicopee, Kenneth of Gardner, MA and Theresa Tucker and her husband Warren of Chicopee. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren along with a brother Willard Vaughn of Springfiled and two sisters, Anna Elizabeth Hoynoski and Charlotte Small both of Westfield. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 2:30 P.M. in the Belchertown Congregational Church. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. from the Beers and Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Burial is private. Memorial donations may be made to Baystate VNA and Hospice, PO Box 9058 50 Maple St. Springfield, MA 01102-9058 . "
