"South Hadley, Doris L. (Tourangeau) Byrnes, 84, died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 12th at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Holyoke, MA on January 18, 1932. Doris was the daughter of Fred and Ella (Beach) Tourangeau. Doris was employed as a bookkeeper for 25 years at the Edward J. O'Leary Co. She was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church and she enjoyed traveling, nature walks, her gardens and bird watching. Doris was an avid Patriots fan and cherished time with her precious grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John W. Byrnes, in 2014. She will be deeply missed by her children, John Byrnes of S. Hadley, Theresa Byrnes of Milford, CT and Michael Byrnes and his wife Ellen of S. Hadley along with her two grandchildren, John and Jennifer. Her sisters, Helen Epperson of Ohio and Elinor Morel and her husband Ed of N. Billerica, MA also survive her. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Sowa and Claire Tisdell Bisi. Funeral services will be on Monday, July 18th at 10:45 a.m. at Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Mewton St., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa's Church at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are on Sunday, July 17th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital, Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or St. Theresa's Church 9 E. Parkview Dr., S. Hadley, MA 01075."
