Dorsie R. Kovacs

Dec 19, 1951 — Aug 29, 2016

"Monson - On August 29th, 2016, Dorsie R. Kovacs set out from her home, at 9 King St., on another journey. She was a special soul whose spirit inspired everyone she met. Possibly the most positive person ever, she always saw the silver lining in every storm cloud that passed her way. Her employees often referred to her as "Pollyanna", to me she was "Perpetually, Pathologically (in a good way), Perky". Passionate about her life's work as the local veterinarian, she provided care and comfort to pets and their people alike. Remembering names was not her forte, but the warmth and strength she delivered in a hug said it all. She held a curiosity and awe for nature, and was constantly humbled by the natural beauty and life that surrounded her. After retiring on the first of June at the age of 64, she devoted the last two months to facing cancer on her terms sharing her wit, wisdom and love with all. Although she will be deeply missed by her wife (Sharon Johnson of Monson), brother (Kurt Kovacs of Seattle, WA) and an enormous extended "Family of Friends", her spirit remains in our hearts always. Calling hours will be Sunday September 4th, 2016 from 1-5pm at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Nature Conservancy, Monson Free Library and/or the Monson Arts Council. "
