" Belchertown, Edward G. Laferriere, 90, of Oliver St., died Sunday at home. Born in Holyoke, Jan. 24, 1915, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rhea Laferriere and lived in S. Hadley for many years before moving to Belchertown in 1978. Mr. Laferriere served his country during WWII in the Army. He worked for Laferriere Movers, a family business, for 55 years before retiring in 1986, and then worked for the Belchertown Senior Center for 10 years. He was a communicant of St. Francis Church, sang in the church choir and also participated in St. Theresa’s Variety Shows. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Rena (Germain) Laferriere in1992, a son Alan in 1973, a daughter Lynne in 2001, and a sister Florence Erickson in 2004. A daughter Robyn with whom he lived, and two grandchildren Danielle and Sarah survive him. Services will be held on Thursday beginning from the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St, (Rte. 202) at 12:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Notre Dame Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to Belchertown Senior Center, State Street, Belchertown, 01007. "
