Eugene E. Lavigne

"Chicopee - Eugene E. Lavigne, 81, passed away August 4, 2015 under the care of Mercy Hospice. He leaves his partner, Phyllis Hackworth with whom he lived in Chicopee. He was the son of Joseph and Rosetta (Record) Lavigne and had several siblings. He was married to the late Agnes (Haley) in 1952 with whom he had four children, Eugene Jr. of Chicopee, Debra Norris of Ludlow, Thomas of VA and Donna Petrucci of CT. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Eugene was a member of the Union 404 being a truck driver over 40 years retiring in 1996. A special thanks goes out to Matthew, Marie and Gregory McCourt who were instrumental in Eugene's care the past five years. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Island Pond Cemetery.
