"W. Brookfield, Francis J. Kozacki, 81, of W. Main St., died peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, August 26 at home. Born in Holyoke, March 18, 1932, he grew up there, before moving to W. Brookfield in 1971. He proudly served his country during the Korean War and later worked as a police officer for the MDC for 16 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the VFW Post 8428 in Belchertown. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 33 years, Elaine (Pulver) Stilwell Kozacki, along with his step children Deborah A. (Stilwell) Fancy and her husband Robert of Belchertown, and Gerald Richard Stilwell and his wife Hilda of Douglas. He also leaves his 4 step grandchildren, Billie Jo Foskit-Nulph (Todd) Timothy Stilwell, David Stilwell (Molly), and Sarah Ducharme (Jeffrey) and 2 great grandchildren, Evan Foskit-Nulph and Sean Ryan Stilwell. Funeral services will be Friday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story BELCHERTOWN Funeral Home, 10 Maple St. (Rte 202) followed by burial in Quabbin Park Cemetery, Ware. Calling hours are Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. For those wishing, donations may be made to Baystate VNA & Hospice, 50 Maple St., Springfield. "
