George A. Tweedie

"Ware - George A. Tweedie , 75, of Monson Turnpike Rd. died on October 12, 2013 at home with his family by his side. Born June 12, 1938 in Milford, MA, he was the son of Alden Tweedie and Louise (Damon). George proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was the VP at Amvets in Chicopee during his working career. He also like to play softball and played for the Legion in South Hadley. George was a machine operator for 15 years at the former Major Wire Corp. in Chicopee before he retired in 2000. He has lived in Ware since 1987, previously residing in South Hadley. George will be dearly missed by his wife, Constance (Sibley)Tweedie of Ware, MA, his son, Brian Tweedie of Palmer, and great granddaughter Natashia Tweedie. George was predeceased by his son Rene and grandson Matthew. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 17th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home with a service to begin at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
