Irene M. Hebert

"Irene M. (Gay) Hebert, 72, of Sykes Street in the Three Rivers section of Palmer, passed away Thursday, December 15, at home. Born in Palmer, December 31, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Aurelia (Daudelin) Gay. Irene grew up in Thorndike and was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church. She worked at Monson Developmental Center for 30 years, retiring in 1992. On December 1, 2005 she and her husband Arthur celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary with family. Besides her husband, she will be deeply missed by her five children Anthony of San Francisco, CA, Kathleen Ronchi of Westfield, Paul of Spencer, Philip of Thorndike and David of Chicopee. She also leaves eight siblings and eight grandchildren, to whom she was lovingly known as "Meme". Calling hours for Irene will be Sunday December 18 at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., (Rte. 20) from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Her funeral will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
