James J. Russell

"James J. Russell, 48, died March 13 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in New Britain, CT, January 28, 1962, he was the son of Robert W. and Margaret (Gregory) Russell of Burlington, CT. Jim grew up in Burlington, and was a graduate of Lewis S. Mill High School. Following graduation, he entered the military, serving with the Air Force for 6 years. He moved to Palmer in 1986, and has worked at Sanderson – MacLeod for 23 years, most recently serving as General Products Dept. Manager for several years. In his leisure, Jim found peace canoeing on various rivers in the area, most especially the Quaboag River. He also enjoyed and was skilled as a nature photographer. Jim will also be fondly remembered as a vocal and avid fan supporting his children's sports teams. Besides his parents, he will be deeply missed by his two children, Natalie A. Russell and Jonathan E. Russell, both at home, along with his wife Karen (O'Brien) Russell. He also leaves his siblings, Carol Feron McClelland of San Diego, CA, Debra Russell Kobe of Phoenix, AZ, and Charles W. Russell of Kensington, CT. A service to honor his life will be held privately at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to Cardiac Amyloidosis Research or National Humane Society. "
