" Palmer - Jessimond E. (Shearer) Barrett, 88 of Shearer St., died Aug. 17, 2005 at Mary Lyon Nursing Home. Born on August 14, 2005 in Palmer, MA, she was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Purlin and Lenore (Grady) Shearer. Jessimond retired from New England Tel & Tel after working for 45 years. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Palmer, A past matron of the Revere Chapter Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Daughters of the Nile and the Vassa Lodge of Springfield. She was predeceased by her husband Verner “Bib” Barrett on Aug. 1, 2005, she also was predeceased by sisters Julia Shearer, Charlotte Babineau, Evelyn Green, Doris Shearer and brothers Earl, Harry and Vernon. She leaves a two sister-in-laws Barbara Mix of Deerfield, OH and Henrietta Barrett of Palmer, also several nieces and nephews and dear friends Grace and Edward Kulpa. A funeral service will be Monday at 10:00am in the Second Congregational Church of Palmer, followed by burial in Oak Knoll Cemetery. A calling hours will be Sunday from 3:00-4:00 pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Donations may be made in her memory to the Second Congregational Church, Palmer, MA 01069 or to Shriners Hospital 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104. "
