"Belchertown-Judith A. (Ryder) Samson, 54, of Turkey Hill passed away March 21, 2010 at home with her family by her side. Born January 24, 1956 in Palmer, she was the daughter of the late George and Rita (Champagne) Ryder. Judy has lived in Belchertown since 2000, previously living in Ware for 10 years. Retiring from Quaboag Valley Chamber of Commerce in 2008, she was employed for 11 years of as the Administrative Assistant. Judy previously worked at Monson Developmental Center and was a paid companion for 10 years along with assisting in the Meals on Wheels in Belchertown . Judy enjoyed quilting, reading and the beach. Being active in Baystate Mary Lane Oncology "Circle of Angels", she was part of a quilting support group for cancer patients and their families who have been touched by cancer. The group started in Oct. of 2009. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 18 years, Ernest J. Sr., along with her daugher Malissa Tatro of Monson, grandchildren Ethan, Davon, and Joshua. Judy also leaves step children Brenda Samson of Northampton, Ernest Jr. of Florence and Erin Samson of Northampton along with step mother Esther Ryder of Monson and siblings Roger Ryder of Monson, Ricky Ryder of TN, Linda Nichols of Hampen and Susan Ryder of TN. She is also survived by step sibings Eric Switzer of Maine, Virginia Keyes of Monson and Wayne Switzer of MA. Services will be privately held at Hope Methodist Church in Belchertown. Donations may be made to Oncology at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital. "
