"Belchertown, Margaret A. (Hill) Ritter, 84, of Jabish died October 13 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Born in Springfield, September 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Harry James Hill born in Tayport, Scotland and Margaret (Fenny) Hill born in Indian Orchard. Mrs. Ritter lived for many years in Chicopee before moving to Belchertown 49 years ago. She was a 1939 graduate of Chicopee High School and completed schooling at Comptometer Business School of Springfield. She worked at Westinghouse and Savage Arms and then was a technician for the mentally retarded at Belchertown State School for 21 years, retiring in 1982. She was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Chicopee and the Senior Center in Belchertown. Besides her parents, Mrs. Ritter was predeceased by her husband of 41 Years, Robert M. Ritter in 1991, and her only brother James Hill. She is survived by four children Richard Ritter and his wife Susan, and Gloria Neal and her significant other, William Ashley, of Sacramento, CA, and Harry Ritter and his wife, Laurie, and Judith Kamont and her husband, Edward, of Belchertown, along with 4 grandchildren Richard Ritter, Jr. Sommer McCormick, Benjamin Ritter, of CA, and Ryan Ritter of Belchertown, along with two great grandchildren, Jacob McCormick and Riley Ritter. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St, (Rte. 202) followed by burial in South Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 12:00 – 1:00 prior to the service. For those wishing, donations may be made to the Belchertown Senior Center, 60 State St, 01007. "
