Norman A. Stephens

"Belchertown- On Sunday, December 18, 2005, Norman A. Stephens left this earth to be with his Lord after a long illness. Born in Lawrence, MA on October 14, 1929, he was the son of the late Benjamin H. and Martha C. (Broll) Stephens. Norman grew up in Springfield and lived there for many years, graduated from the Trade School, moved to Vermont for eight years and has resided in Belchertown since 1986. Norman served his country in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer during the Korean Conflict. He was predeceased by his wife Emily (Brisley) September 24, 2005 and is survived by three children, Sandra Rogers of Canton, GA, Brenda Darling of Belchertown and Karl Stephens of Vancouver, WA, along with grandsons Michael Rogers, Christopher Rogers, Joshua Darling, David Darling, one great granddaughter Alissa Rogers, sister-in-law Corrine Stephens of Springfield, six nieces, and one nephew. Norman was a toolmaker for many years and loved his family, camping, skiing, attending church, bird watching and Bible studies. Norman attended Bethany Assembly of God for 23 years with his wife Emily. A celebration of his life will be held at Bethany on Tuesday, December 27th with a calling hour at 9:00 a.m. and service to begin at 10:00 a.m. Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140.
