"Palmer - Rachel A. Whitten , 89, of Beacon Dr. died on May 17, 2013 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born January 20, 1924 in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of Edward Souliere and Stella (Roberts). Rachel and her husband William raised their family in Brimfield. She worked at Jarvis and Jarvis for many years before retiring to Miccco, FL in 1979. In 2004, they returned to Green Estates in Palmer. Rachel enjoyed playing bridge with her girlfriends and was active in St. Christopher's Church while living in Brimfield. She currently was a communicant of Divine Mercy Parish. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Rachel is survived by her children William Whitten, Jr. of Weedsport, NY, Beverly Raymond and her husband of Palmer, James Whitten and his wife of Red Oak, Iowa, Peter Whitten and his wife of Brimfield, Jeffrey Whitten of Warren along with her , sister, Stella Carder of Fairport, NY, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. Rachel was predeceased by her husband William, Sr. in 2010 along with her brother, Richard Souliere, and sister, Lillian Gelinas. A memorial Mass will be held Friday, Aug. 2nd at 10:00 at Divine Mercy Parish with burial to follow at Brimfield Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wing Memorial Hospital."
