" South Hadley – Raymond J. Cote, 87, of Bartlett St., died at home surrounded by his family on Dec, 2, 2005. Born Sept. 23, 1918, in Holyoke MA, he was the son of William & Alma (Fortier) Cote. Raymond was raised in Holyoke and has resided in So. Hadley for 53 years. He retired in 1980 from the former Community Savings Bank in Holyoke after working as a custodian for 18 years. Raymond previously worked for Croteau Building Movers for 15 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Armandine (Houle) Cote. He leaves seven children Elaine Ittner and Anita Lengieza of So. Hadley, Paul Cote of Sealy, TX, Nancy Archambault of Belchertown, Carol Clark and Susan Whitlatch of Moundsville, W.VA and Frank Cote of Lakeland, FL. He will also be missed by eight brothers Gerald of Springfield, Elroy, Earl, Harold, Richard and Harvey all of Chiropee, John of Belchertown, Charles of Easthampton and three sisters Gertrude Nichols and Muriel Thibodeau of Chicopee and Charlotte Piwco of E. Douglas, MA also 20 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. Raymond was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. A funeral service will be on Monday at 9:00am from the Beers & Story S. Hadley Funeral Home, followed by a Mass at 10:00 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby. Burial is private. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm. Donations may be made in Raymond’s memory to Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice 50 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01102. "
