Rita E. Lapointe-Currier

"South Hadley - Rita E. (Leduc) Lapointe- Currier, 77, of Harwich Place died on April 13, 2010 at home. She was born in Holyoke, MA on April 28, 1932, daughter of the late Theodore and Delia (Allair) Leduc. Rita lived in Belchertown for many years before moving to South Hadley in 2004. She retired from the Belchertown School System where she worked for many years. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, a former member of the Belchertown Lioness Club and an avid bowler. She is survived by four children, Therese A. Reynolds of Sunderland, Roland Lapointe of Granby, Marie Lapointe of Texas and Carol Greenwood of Holland. She also leaves three brothers Ronald T. Leduc of Meriden, CT, Richard Parenteau of Easthampton and Raymond Parenteau of Rochester, NH, nine grandchildren David, Donna, Derrick, James, Elizabeth, Stephen, Justin, Christopher, and April, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Rita was preceded in death by a daughter Connie Lapointe, her first husband, Roland Lapointe and second husband, Emery R. Currier on Feb. 24, 2010. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday from 8:15 a.m. to process to a Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow in the St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 18, 2010 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., Rt 116 South Hadley, MA.
