"Belchertown - Robert J. "Bob" McCallum , 54, died on February 28, 2010 after a long illness at Baystate Medical Center. He was born February 15, 1956 in Chicopee, MA, son of the late Earl G. and Elizabeth M. (Rae) McCallum. Being a life long resident of Belchertown, Bob recently moved to W.Springfield with his brother Doug. For over 20 years, Bob worked in residential services for the state Department of Developmental Services. As an avid sports fan, Bob loved the NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys, car racing, and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards and collecting baseball memorabilia and coins. Surviving are his son, Chris McCallum and his wife Jaime of South Hadley, and brothers, Douglas W. McCallum of W.Springfield, MA, brother, Earl R. McCallum of CT. He will also be missed by his three grandchildren, Jade, Faith and Elisha along with niece Michelle, and nephews Michael and Sean. Bob also leaves many cousins, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Richard in 2008. Visitation will be held Saturday March 6th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. A celebration of his life service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
