" Ronald Lee Jones, 52, of Barton Ave, died December 25 surrounded by his family, after a three year battle with cancer. Born in Springfield, May 1, 1950, he was the son of Ellery R.Jones of Chicopee and the late Jeannine (Dumas) Jones. Ron grew up in Springfield, and lived in Ware and E. Brookfield before moving to Belchertown 13 years ago. He achieved his Bachelor’s degree in education from Westfield State, and his Masters in Business from Western New England College. Ron was a member of Hope United Methodist church in Belchertown, and had most recently worked for Lee Publications, Inc. as a salesman. He had previously worked for Buxton Company in Springfield for 6 years. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Diana (Bristol) Jones, 2 daughters Katharine and Julianne Jones both at home. He also leaves 2 brothers Kenneth of Chicopee and Russell of Southwick, along with 2 nephews, Brian and David Jones. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 4 at 3:00 p.m.at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The family requests that donations be made in his memory to The Trustees of Reservation for Martha’s Vineyard Properties, 522 Essex St, Beverly, MA 01915-1530 or to VNA and Hospice of Western New England 50 Maple St., Springfield,MA 01102. "
