"Brimfield – Ruth C. (Parker) Boutwell, 89, formerly of Brookfield Rd., died Saturday at Quaboag on the Common in West Brookfield. Born on September 18, 1915 in Southbridge, MA, she has lived in Brimfield since 1940. Mrs. Boutwell and her husband Homer L. Parker operated Parker Dairy in Brimfield from 1940-1950; she also worked as a rural mail carrier serving the areas of Palmer, Brimfield and Wales. She was a member of the Brimfield Congregational Church and the Ladies Benevolent Society. Ruth was a former member of the Brimfield Garden Club, Women’s Club of Southbridge and an active Brown Bagger for the senior center at Hitchcock Free Academy. She was predeceased by her first husband Homer L. Parker in 1971 and her second husband Sherman W. Boutwell in 1997 as well as her son David Parker in 1991. Mrs. Boutwell is survived by two brothers George Carpenter of Cranston, RI and Robert Carpenter of Stafford Springs, Ct and a sister Doris White of Ashland, MA and two nieces and seven nephews. A funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by burial in Brimfield Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to Harrington Home Care & Hospice Services, 61 Pine St., Southbridge, MA. "
