Ruth C. Ofcarcik

"Ruth C. Ofcarcik, 86, of Amherst Rd., died November 6, 2005 at Wingate Nursing Home. Born in Holyoke, November 12, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Helecta (Laframbois) Marois. Ruth grew up in Holyoke and moved to South Hadley shortly after WWII. She was a self employed hairdresser and owned her own beauty shop called Beauty for You that she ran out of her own home. She was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Church and in her leisure enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the western United States. She is survived by her husband Joseph R. Ofcarcik. She also leaves three children, Bruce and his wife Jane of Jacksonville, FL, Glenn and his wife Rosemary of MA, and James and his wife Amy of Taylorville, FL, and seven granddaughters, a brother John Marois of Clearwater FL, a sister-in-law, Elaine Boschung and her husband Herbert of Tuscaloosa AL, and five nieces and two nephews. A funeral service will be Monday, December 12 at 8:45 a.m. in the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St, (Rte 116), followed by a mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church. Burial will be in Mater Dolorsa Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.. "
