Ryan Edwin Sormanti
May 13, 1990 — Sep 7, 2016
"Ryan Sormanti, 26 of South Hadley MA passed on Sept. 7, 2016 at UMass Medical Center after a brief illness. Ryan was born to Sue and Rich Sormanti in Springfield on May 13, 1990 (Mother's Day) and it was and will always be his Mom's best Mother's Day present ever. He was a graduate of South Hadley High School where he played varsity baseball and golf, and he received his Associates Degree from Holyoke Community College. Ryan was most recently employed with Nike Golf and Westover Golf Club. He was a huge fan of the Patriots, Celtics and the Cleveland Indians and much to the chagrin of Red Sox fans we will be rooting for the Indians this fall come World Series time knowing Ryan will be watching. Ryan also loved to fish and kayak and but his greatest passion was spending time with his family and friends. Besides his mother and father Ryan leaves behind his two brothers Chris and Connor, who between the three of them and all their friends made our house a crazy, zany but wonderful place. Ryan also leaves behind his long time companion Samantha Mackenzie, his aunts and uncles Steve and Liz Sormanti, Mark and Carole Sormanti, Mike and Tammy Fogarty, all his cousins, as well as his paternal grandparents Richard and Doreen Sormanti and his faithful companion Buster. Ryan was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Ed and Margaret Smith. He had so many wonderful friends who we want to thank for all the pleasure they brought to Ryan's life. He will be forever missed for his humor, compassion and great wit. Fly high our beautiful boy and we will see you in a better place. Ryan's wake will be held on Sun. Sept. 11th from 2:00-5:00 at Beers and Story Funeral Home in South Hadley. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday at 9:00 a.m. to follow to a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow at St. Jerome Cemetery in Holyoke. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the Ronald McDonalds House of Western Massachusetts. "
