"Wales, Shelby J. (Cooney) Perry, 73, died December 8 in Wilbraham with her family at her side. She was born in Waterbury, VT on September 17, 1936, and has lived in Wales for 47 years. She was a communicant of St. Christopher's Church and was the librarian at Wales Public Library for many years before retiring. A proud grandmother, she especially enjoyed spending time at her grandson Jimmy's football games. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1974 along with her son James in 1975. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Elizabeth Perry of Monson, and Lynn Gregoire of Brimfield, as well as 3 grandchildren Sarah Kempesty and her husband Timothy, Richard Gula and his wife Angela, and James Haraghey. She also leaves two sisters, Joyce Flint and Betsey Dempsey, and 3 great grandchildren, Richard and Jillieann Gula and Owen Kempesty. She was also preceded in death by her son in law Michael Gregoire in May 2009, along with a sister Judith Soper in 1988. A calling hour will be Saturday, December 12 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., followed by a burial at 1:00 p.m. in Wales #4 Cemetery. The family requests that donations be made in her memory to Palmer Cowboys, Box 711, Palmer, 01069 or American Cancer Society. "
