Siegfried Klaus Ziarno

"Palmer – Siegfried Klaus Ziarno, 69, of Hillside Dr., died September 30, 2005 with his loving wife of 41 years, Claire (Gamache) Ziarno, by his side. Born in Germany, February 9, 1936 he was the son of the late Johann and Franziska (Mrowka) Ziarno. He came to America in 1958 and resided in Springfield, MA until his retirement from the Milton Bradley Co. after 33 years. He and Claire moved to Florida in 1998 where they enjoyed many new friends and their retirement. Siegie was President of the German American Social Club of New Port Richey FL for 6 years. Siegie’s recent fight with cancer prompted them to return to Massachusetts to the home of their daugher, Annemarie (Ziarno) Bartels of Palmer. Annemarie is a nurse and assisted in the care of her father during his last couple of months. Besides his wife Claire, Siegie is survived by his daughter Annemarie Bartels and her husband Daniel and their three wonderful children, Kyle, 15, Cody, 11, and Sara, 10. He is also survived by his two brothers Herbert and Helmut both of Germany. He was predeceased by his sister, Elfriedel in 2004. He also leaves many friends who will forever remember him with special fondness in their hearts. Siegie’s wish was to be cremated and there are no calling hours or burial at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Siegie’s name may be made to VNA and Hospice, 50 Maple St. P.O. Box 9058 Springfield, MA 01102.
