"Belchertown - Stephen C. McGinnis , 70, of Chauncey Walker St.died on June 24, 2013 at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital. Born August 9, 1942 in Barre , VT, he was the son of Wendell McGinnis and Alice (Adams). Stephen grew up in Belchertown and lived in Oklahoma for many years before returning to Belchertown about 20 years ago. He retired as a long distance truck driver and was proud to be a member of the Vernon Masonic Lodge and U.S. Air Force Veteran. Stephen is survived by his children, Ransom "Randy" McGinnis and wife Betsy of Red Bank, Mississippi, Lisa McGinnis and partner Carla of Memphis, TN, Stephanie Harrington of OK, and Nathan McGinnis and his wife Kristina of South Hadley along with siblings, Eleanor Green of Ludlow, Clifford McGinnis of Pembroke, NH, and Richard McGinnis of Belchertown as well as grandchildren, Terri Thomas and husband Travis, Konnor McGinnis, Alyssa Byrne, and great grandchildren Reese and James. Memorial visitation will be Friday from 10-11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home with an Evergreen and Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital.
