Susan Joy Cronk

"Belchertown - Susan Joy (Chakour) Cronk, 61, of Juckett Hill Rd. died unexpectedly at her home on August 9, 2013. Born February 12, 1952 in Ludlow, she was the daughter of Frederick M. and Marion Blanche (Cargel) Chakour. Susan worked for 17 years as a legal office manager for the late John Curry, III, an attorney in Belchertown. She also worked at Hampshire Bank as a mortgage manager amongst other functions. Sue enjoyed her many pets and was a wonderful cook. The consummate mother, and surrogate mother for many more, she always made everyone feel right at home. Sue also took much pride in her gardens, sewing and beading. She will be dearly missed by her husband Andrew K. Carey along with her cherished children, Jennifer Freeman-Griffin of Highland Lakes, NJ, James D. Cronk Jr. of Belchertown, grandson Jacob Griffin, and siblings, Peter Chakour of Blue Grass, IA, Todd Arslanian of Feeding Hills, Patty Chakour of Scottsdale, AZ, and Doreen Retzlaff of Ludlow. Along with extended family, nieces, and nephews, Susan will be missed by many who were blessed to have been part of her life. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father to their children, James D. Cronk in 1993. Memorial visitation will be held Thursday August 15th from 4:30-7pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. A graveside memorial will be Friday August 16th at 11:00am at West Cemetery in Granby.
