"Amherst, Thérèse Pasquale Maguire, 67, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her husband and children, on July 7th, 2016 in Amherst, Massachusetts. Thérèse was raised in Jamaica Plain, Boston by her loving parents, Angelo and Margaret Barletto Pasquale. She attended Holy Cross Academy, graduating in 1966, and Trinity College in Washington, D.C. graduating in 1970. While in college, she studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence, thus beginning a love affair with France and its language. She shared and nourished her gift for language and love of travel with her family, which remains. Thérèse taught International Short Story, Fiction, and Film at UMass and also served as the Associate Director of the Residential Academic Programs. She loved her students.
