" Belchertown - William "Bill" F. Dillard, Jr. formerly of Federal St., died on July 20, 2013 at Hadley at Elaine. He was born December 26, 1931 in Grant, Louisiana, son of William F. and Mary Berta (Tilly) Dillard. Bill served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Korea. While stationed at Westover, he met his wife Elizabeth. He also enjoyed boxing in the military. Bill retired in 1989, as a lab technician for James River Graphics. After his retirement, he worked for Stop & Shop in Hadley. He was a Mason, a member of the Tri-Lakes and attended Christ Community Church. Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with family and friends. In his leisure, he loved cooking, fishing and hunting, carpentry, reading, watching movies and listening to music. He is survived by a son, Greg Dillard and wife Shirley of Belchertown, daughter, Sharon Richardson and husband Kurt of Greenfield, a brother Prentice Dillard, and wife Betty of TX. He also leaves three grandchildren Nathan W. Richardson, Chelsea E. Richardson and fiancé Chris Phillips and Alex K. Richardson, a great grandson Hayden Girard and many nieces, nephews and cousins. William was preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth A. Dillard. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m.at the South Cemetery, (Rt 181) in Belchertown. Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Community Church. "
