Lillian R. Hoy

Sep 17, 1946 — Jun 19, 2026

Palmer- Lillian R. Hoy, 79, passed away on June 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 17, 1946, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Alfred W. and Lillian (Hackett) Deyo.

Lillian worked for over 25 years selling souvenirs at the Big E in West Springfield. She truly enjoyed her work and the many friendships she formed along the way.

Alongside her husband, Lillian opened her heart and home as a foster parent, lovingly caring for many infants and young children over the years. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially camping and traveling to Maine. Above all, Lillian’s greatest pride and happiness came from her family. She cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her love for them was unwavering.

Besides her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred, Edward and Ralph, and by her son-in-law, Butch Ellis. She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of 61 years, John L. Hoy; their 2 children, John and his wife Samantha, and Kimberly Ellis; grandchildren, Joshua and wife Melissa, Christopher, Kristin and fiancé Mandy, Zachary and wife Kirstin, Madison and husband Benjemin, James, Delaney and partner Joshua, Tiffani, and Kristopher; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Carter, Anastasia, Cooper, Nicholas, Lilliana, and Mason; her former daughter-in-law, Kimberly Hoy-Kennedy and husband Joseph; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family and friends.

A celebration of Lillian's life will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 1-4 PM in Pulaski Park in Three Rivers. In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree or flower in memory of Lillian.

Lillian will be remembered for her warm heart, selflessness, and devotion to those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and care that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
