Lorraine K. Toothill

Lorraine Kay Toothill, age 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Springfield, Massachusetts, in the morning hours of Tuesday, April 14, 2026.  She was the daughter of John Francis and Elizabeth Laura Hathaway.

Born in Burlington, Connecticut, Lorraine was raised in Milford, Connecticut, where she graduated from Milford High School. Upon graduating, she became a military wife, which gave her the opportunity to travel the world. She loved sharing the many interesting and exciting stories from that time in her life.

After retiring from AT&T, Lorraine remained incredibly active. She was a member of the Cyclonauts Bicycle Club of Greater Springfield, and if she wasn’t gardening, you could often find her out on a bike ride. When winter arrived, she enjoyed cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. She continued cycling well into her 80s.

Lorraine was an active and adventurous woman, full of life, and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her three daughters: Lynn Bragdon of Marblehead, Massachusetts; Colleen Toothill-Berte and her husband, Lance, of Belchertown, Massachusetts; and Pamela Lane of Delray Beach, Florida.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Laura Bragdon and her husband, Robert, of New York, New York; Evan Bragdon and his wife, Megan, of Salem, Massachusetts; Rachel Lane and her husband, Robert McNeill, of Delray Beach, Florida; and Kathryn Lane of Delray Beach, Florida; as well as a beloved great-granddaughter, Heidi.

A private service will be held in accordance with her wishes.
