Scott A. Schmitter

Scott Allyn Schmitter, aged 50, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026 at his place of residence in Easthampton. Born on August 6, 1975, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Scott was also a resident of South Hadley, Massachusetts.

Scott proudly served his country in the United States Navy where he became a Boatswains Mate performing various duties aboard the United States Constellation Aircraft Carrier. Scott conducted many tours at sea becoming a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. Following his military service Scott was a dedicated foreman for Asplundh Tree Company.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Ralph L. Schmitter. He is survived by his mother, Kristina Schmitter, and his two brothers, Bryan Schmitter and his wife Yona, and Nikolaus Schmitter and his wife Nerissa, uncle Max Schmitter and his wife Lori, nieces Nyah, Lillian, nephew Nikolaus, cousin Kevin Schmitter his wife Amy and son Logan, as well as several other relatives and friends.

A committal service with military honors will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA, on Monday, July 20th at 9:00 am. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
