Elizabeth Globus
August 24, 1938 — March 29, 2021
Elizabeth “Liz” Globus was born on August 24, 1938 in Monterey California and passed away on March 29, 2021 in Santa Cruz, California. She had just weeks before lost her beloved husband of 50 years, Dr. Albert Globus.
She grew up in Sacramento, attending McClatchy High School class of 1956, and then went on to UC Davis and UCLA to finish her undergrad education.
Raised in a family of professional musicians, she had a different calling. She spent her twenties raising three children alone while earning her Master’s Degree in Public Health at UCLA, she was the director of the Yolo County Family Service Agency for a decade and then went on to earn another Master’s Degree in Psychology and an MFCC License, opening private practice and becoming sought after for her special gifts as a Grief and Loss Instructor.
Elizabeth and her husband Al were true humanitarian activists, supporting several causes over many decades in the United States and abroad. She was a multitalented woman, an avid reader, a member of many book clubs and a 30 year member of the Woodland Shakespeare Club. She played nine instruments, was an incredible singer, an excellent gourmet cook, impeccable seamstress and she loved to travel.
She leaves behind nine children with her husband Albert Globus, M.D.: Al Globus Jr., Ruth Globus, Charlie Abdi, Sue Abdi Lincoln, Anna Della Corte, Lee Globus, Simon Mudahogora, Regina Muhamahoro, Denise Uwingabire, sister, Barbara Long Bloom and nephew David Bloom, thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and an extensive circle of family, friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her Husband Dr. Albert Globus and grandsons Daniel Moreno and Dimitri Weinstein. She had an infectious personality and brought a truly unique and compassionate light to our world and will be deeply missed.
