Alice M. Youngman

Alice Marie Youngman, 89, of Amsterdam, New York, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2022 at St. Mary's Healthcare, surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born on February 3, 1933 in Gloversville, New York. A life-long area resident, Alice attended local schools and worked as a Caregiver in many homes throughout the Amsterdam area. She was united in marriage to Roger E. Youngman on December 27, 1967 in Salisbury, Connecticut. The couple shared nearly 19 years together, until Roger’s passing on July 2, 1986. Alice’s passion in life was her family. She was a loving mother to her children, and a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Casimir’s Church in Amsterdam, until its closing in 2009. She then became a communicant of the Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. She leaves behind her loving family, including her children, Marie (Charlie) Montano of Saratoga, Roger (Doris) Youngman of Lynn, MA, Lori Youngman, Valerie (Vinny) Wilkas, Michael Scotarczak, Patricia Kot, David Skotarczak, and Deborah Skotarczak; her grandchildren, Sebastian (Julieann) Youngman of Boston, MA, Yvonne Youngman of Manchester, NH, Garrick (Kassandra) Spencer of Florida, and Vinny (Caroline) Wilkas; her best friend, Jingles; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alice is preceded in passing by her husband, Roger E. Youngman; her son, Timothy Skotarczak; her mother, Edna Shear; and by her siblings, Frank Groves and Dorothy Cebula. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the Caregivers who helped Alice over the course of these last several years. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 10 o’clock in the morning at the Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 156 Main St, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Reverend Martin Kordel, CRL presiding.
