Mrs. Catherine Mason, 80, formerly of Floral Avenue, Canajoharie, NY died on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown following a brief illness.
Born on January 19, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Sakelious. Catherine was of the Christian faith who believed whole heartedly in the bonds of family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her 9 children: Russell Judy Mason, Rich Pat Mason, Ronald Mason, Randall Mason, Roger Rachael Mason, Susan Larry Carpenter, Sandra David Williams, Sharon William Zinzow and Sheila Mason; the father of her children, Russell Mason; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by four siblings.
Funeral services will be conducted Today, Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 1 o'clock at Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with the Rev. Nancy Ryan presiding. Interment will follow in the Fort Plain Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service beginning at 11 o'clock at the funeral home. Contributions in Catherine's memory may be made to Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance, who helped her extensively throughout her life.
