Mrs. Cynthia A. Richardson, 54, of Hewitt St., Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday December 4, 2013 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on March 12, 1959 a daughter of the late Richard and Eileen Conti Sanders. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was part of the first graduating class of the new Amsterdam High School in 1977.
Cynthia was employed at the former Coleco Industries, Ward Products, The Sarah Jane Sanford Home for Women, Breton Industries, Esquire Novelty, Hannaford Supermarket and Buddy L Co. all in Amsterdam. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and cared deeply about her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren above all. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and watching the Family Feud game show. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She married Thomas J. Richardson on July 3, 1976. They were together 39 years. In addition to her loving husband she is survived by her five beloved daughters, Sherry Ann Richardson of Amsterdam, Tiffany Lynn Scott Morey of Broadalbin, NY, Tina Marie Richardson of Amsterdam, Shannon Lee Aviles Richardson of Amsterdam and Sarah Jean Richardson of Amsterdam. Thirteen grandchildren, Kayleigh, Abbie, Jestin, Alex, Alexis, Taylor Jordan, Destiny, Deyonce, Nicole, Daysia, Savannah and Andrew. Two brothers, Joel Cherrie Sanders of Johnstown and Ross Kimberly Sanders of Amsterdam. Aunts and uncles, Ann and Terry Van Arnum, Anna Morey and Joanne Conti. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Andrea Marie Pettit.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 9, 2013 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Father John Medwid presiding. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.
