Diedri Carter
March 8, 1961 — July 19, 2020
Ms. Diedri Carter, 59, of Amsterdam passed away on Sunday July 19, 2020 at Albany Medical Center.
She was born in the Bronx on March 8, 1961 to the late Mr. David Carter and Mrs. Brenda Johnson Carter.
Diedri had many joys in life but the one she was most passionate about was cooking. Her joy of cooking is where most crossed paths with her. She would feed anyone in need and even if they weren’t—she was feeding them. Diedri was a chef by trade, perfecting her craft at several restaurants in NYC before relocating to Amsterdam with her family in 2008.
Diedri loved immensely and was loved immensely by her family, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, dancing, music, thrift shopping, being a mother, and especially being a grandparent. She took pride in being there for every one of her grandchildren’s births.
She will be remembered for her vibrant sense of humor.
Diedri Carter is survived by her beloved daughters Kenadra (Andre) Williams of Amsterdam, Khamara Badji of Amsterdam, and Khailia Williams of Florida. She also leaves behind her grandchildren who she cherished; Aijah Thomas, Mioki Levell, Kennidy Levell, Elite Levell, Journee Levell, Andre Levell, Kyii Levell, and the latest edition Niila-Dior Newbold, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents David and Brenda.
