Donald Birch

Donald Birch, Sr. 79, of Amsterdam, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016, at his home. Born on May 21, 1936 in Amsterdam, he was a son of the late Dominic and Doris Bellos Birch. A lifelong resident of the area; working for various local businesses until his retirement in 1994 due to his illness. Donald was a proud Veteran of the United States National Guard, and member of Post 701 in Amsterdam. Many times you could find Donald playing pool, as he was a member of various pool leagues in the area. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Donald is survived by his son, Lennie Birch (Nichole); grandchildren, Kendra Birch, Anthony Birch, Lee Birch, and Sierra Michaels; brothers, Dominick Birch and James Birch; sister, Delores Waight. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his son, Donald Birch, Jr.; daughter, Donna Birch; sisters, Grace Chichester and Judy Birch and his brother, Daniel Birch. Funeral services for Donald will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.
