Elizabeth Gagnepain
May 20, 1934 — October 28, 2023
Elizabeth Gagnepain, better known to her friends and family as Betty, passed away on Saturday, October 28 at the age of 89.
She was born in Manhattan, but ended up in Texas for the better part of her adult life. She was an RN until she had her two children, Amy and David. She lost her son, David and her husband, George within a year of each other. She will be missed by her daughter, Amy, her favorite and only son-in-law, Pat, her grandchildren, Nick (Sarah) and Connor (Bianca).
She worked for SPEC’S Liquor Store for over 30 years in Houston and then in Corpus Christi. She retired at the age of 87 due to health reasons, and she returned to New York to live with her daughter, Amy, in 2021.
She loved every aspect of life, especially shopping, and always lived it to the fullest. Even though she considered herself a “Texan”, she was glad to return to her roots and spend time with her daughter and her Liverio family, who she loved dearly. Everyone who knew her, loved her, and she will be missed by all including her beloved cat, Honey.
It was Elizabeth’s request that there be no funeral services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Donations can be made to the Montgomery County SPCA 1007 NY-5S Amsterdam, NY 12010. Please leave condlolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com
