James John Stewart, 48, born on June 8, 1965, was a lifelong Gloversville resident. He passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Albany Medical Center with his family at his side.
He attended Gloversville schools and was involved in local softball and bowling leagues. He was a member of the Concordia Club and the Eagles.
Jim had a unique talent of remembering and reciting jokes to his family and friends, providing many happy and cheerful moments of entertainment.
He is survived by his father and best friend, Ralph "Pete" Stewart Sr and mother Billie Lee Garber Stewart both of Gloversville; two sons, Jonathan James Stewart and Kyle Mathew Stewart, both of Johnstown; grandson Landon Charles Stewart of Johnstown; two sisters, Terri Billy Capasso of Gloversville and Patricia Mark Roten of Johnstown; three brothers, Ralph Stewart Jr of Virginia, Thomas Karen Stewart of Lake Katrine and Scott Renee Stewart of Johnstown; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal friends including man's best friend Shelby.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. At Jim's request there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life with Jim's family and friends will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are with Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
