Joyce E. Vidulich
Jun 7, 1932 — Apr 17, 2026
On Friday, April 17, 2026 our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend Joyce E. Kraft-Vidulich, died at home after losing her battle with cancer with her daughters and caregivers, Lori and Tammy and her grandson Jason by her side.
Joyce was born June 7, 1932 in Little Falls, New York. She was the daughter of Ernest and Anna Kreiger-Kraft. She was a 1950 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and was a lifelong area resident.
During her lifetime she was employed at Mortan’s in Amsterdam, General Electric in Schenectady, and Verizon where she worked as a Drafter in the Engineering Department in Menands, retiring in 1989 after 20 years service.
She also served as an Election Inspector in the Fort Johnson District, volunteered for the Mental Health Assoc. at the Handy Ups & Downs Thrift Shop, and the Office of the Aging. Mrs. Vidulich was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and Communications Worker of America, and joined the Century Club in Amsterdam in 1981. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Amsterdam.
Some of Joyce’s favorite things were playing tennis at FMCC, meeting her close friends weekly for lunches at the Old Brick Diner in Amsterdam, and entertaining for her family at holidays, birthdays, or backyard picnics and pool parties. During the winter, she loved her retreats down South to visit her friends that had moved away. But her main passion was her love for cats. She shared a special bond with her two cats, Merls & Fraya, and loved to have them close by her giving her the comfort and companionship she needed in her later years.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband, William H. Vidulich of Fort Johnson and her sister, Marguerite L. Tennant of Vail Mills. Survivors include three daughters, Lori A. Craig of Fort Johnson, Kim A. Davis (Glenn) of Massachusetts, and Tammy L. Tomlinson of Fort Johnson.
Joyce was blessed with 5 grandchildren; Jason Craig (Nikki) of Mayfield, Eric Craig (Lisa) of Alaska, Jamilee Craig of Mayfield, Corey Tomlinson (Rachel) of Colorado, and Tyla Tomlinson of Virginia; 7 great-grandchildren Dallas Hines of Broadalbin, Jose Deleon & Alaia Rivera of Mayfield, Timothy, Eliza, & Jacob Craig of Alaska, and Adalyn Tomlinson of Colorado; a niece Kathy Bever (Warren) of Amsterdam; and a nephew Thomas Tennant (Marsha) of Tennessee and many cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 11 AM to 12 PM at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam. A service will take place at the funeral home at 12 PM with Pastor Thomas Tennant presiding. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family, and Joyce will be laid to rest with her husband William at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
