Kathleen Traver, 75, of Amsterdam, NY, has gone to her eternal rest on Friday May 13, 2016 with her loving family by her side.
Born on December 7th, 1940 in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late Nancy and Stanley Osowicki. Kathleen attended the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She married the love of her life Walden R. Traver on May 7th, 1961. It was a strong and beautiful union that lasted until Walden's passing on March, 2nd, 1992. Kathleen worked for many years at Fownes before she went on to become a bus driver for Brown's Transportation. She left Brown's in the 90's and took a position with Price Chopper in Amsterdam as a cake decorator. It was a job she enjoyed and did for over 20 years before earning her retirement.
Kathleen was an avid garage sale shopper; she enjoyed arranging flowers and designing holiday costumes. She was also a major zombie movie fan. Kathleen was a proud member of Red Hat Society, Hagaman Fire Department Woman's Auxiliary group, and the Inman's Senior Center. In addition she was also a member of a Wii bowling team and a Botcci ball team.
Kathleen had a big heart and was always there for her family and close friends; she provided emotional support for all those who needed it. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Kathleen is survived by her son Frederick Traver; Her sister Mary Burke; Her brothers Stanley Osowicki and Benny Osowicki; Her grandchildren, Nicole Traver, Danielle Traver, Brandon Traver, and Michael Peters Jr.; And her great grandchild Michael Peters III; Kathleen is predeceased by her husband Walden Traver, her daughter Denise Traver, her parents Nancy Fiorillo and Stanley Osowicki, and her sister Eleanor Eckberg.
A Funeral Service for Kathleen will be held on Wednesday May 18th, 2016 at 11am at Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5-8pm on Tuesday May 17th, 2016 at the funeral home.
