Marlene A. Ehmer
January 6, 1936 — August 27, 2022
Ms. Marlene Ann Ehmer, 86, of Amsterdam, NY passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Albany Medical Center.
She was born on January 6, 1936 to Mr. Edward Joseph Ehmer and Mrs. Dorothy McCahan Ehmer. A lifelong area resident Marlene attended local schools and graduated from St. Mary's Institute. She worked as a store manager at the family business, Ehmer's Market, and enjoyed spending her free time serving her community as a member of the Century Club. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Historic Roman Catholic Church.
Marlene will be remembered for her dedication as a mother and her love for her friends and family. She was always happiest when she was with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marlene is survived by her beloved children Linda (Alan) Ravesi, Jody (Robert) Eckert, David (Rita) Bubniak, and Karen (Robert) Elgidely. Other survivors include her sisters Donna Pompa and Gina (Michael) DiBartolomeo, grandchildren Matthew Bubniak, Michelle (Michael) Coogan, Robert Eckert Jr., Marlene Eckert, James (Liz) Ravesi, Michael Ravesi, Kevin Ravesi, Natalia Elgidely, and Rocco Elgidely, her great grandchildren Matthew Ravesi, Jordan Coogan, Nora Ravesi, Charlotte Rose Coogan, and Ava Ravesi. Marlene also leaves behind her longtime friend Michael Persons, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Service of Remembrance will take place on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 2:00PM at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave Amsterdam, NY 12010. Calling hours will take place prior to the service from 12:00PM to 2:00PM at Betz Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 4550 Montgomery Ave. Suite 1100 N Bethesda, MD 20814.
