Michael R. Sievers

Michael R. Sievers, 50, of the Town of Florida passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 19, 2011. He was born January 11, 1961 in Amsterdam, NY, the son of Raymond & Jean Abraham Sievers. Mike is a life time resident of the area and graduated from Amsterdam High School. He and his family own and operate Mohawk Ridge Farms. He is a member of the Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association and the Town of Florida Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, yielding crops for the farm, working on and operating machinery. Mike was a very sociable man, he was well liked and known for being a jokester and making people laugh. Above all Mike is a family man he is a cherished father, husband, son and brother. He will be deeply missed by all. His loving family includes his parents, Raymond and Jean Sievers, wife Melissa Donohue Sievers whom he wed on October 20, 2001, sons Eric Sievers, Nate Donohue and John Sievers; daughters Jessica Sievers and Nicole Sievers Dan McGee;and a brother Timothy Sievers all of Town of Florida. He is also survived by aunts, Helen Kosola Edward, Karen Abraham and Jane Sievers and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services for Mike will be on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 1 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam NY 12010. Rev. Dr. John Califano will officiate. Family and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home Thursday evening, December 22, 2011 from 3 PM until 6 PM. Burial will take place on at Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes hill at the convenience of the family at a later date. Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Lung Association or the Town of Florida Vol. Fire Department in care of the funeral home office.
