Robert R. Brown

Mr. Robert R. Brown, age 79, of Caroga Lake, died Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility, Amsterdam, NY. He was born September 2, 1937 in the town of Bleecker, the son of Lewis and Almeda Winnie Brown. A 1955 graduate of Gloversville High School, he was employed as a construction worker for many years by the Laborer's Union Local of Schenectady. Following his retirement from the union he worked for NYSDEC as an associate caretaker. Bob was a member of the Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. for over 20 years. An avid hunter, he was a member of the Beer, Buck and Beagle Club. He is survived by two children: Robert G. Brown (Wendy) of Broadalbin and Catherine Canale (Christopher) of Amsterdam; three grandsons: Robert G. Brown II, Kodi A. Brown and Connor Canale. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother, Lewis F. Brown Jr. There will be no services. Cremation took place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady.
