Ruth Wells

Ruth Wells, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home.

Born on May 5, 1942, in Gloversville, a daughter of the late Theodore and Mildred (Brockhum) Frye. A lifelong resident of the area, Ruth resided in Sammonsville for 61 years.

She was a graduate of Gloversville High School and worked for many years at Johnstown Knitting Mill. Ruth’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren who she adored. 

Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband, Duryea (Sonny) Wells, whom she married on November 3, 1963, as well as her brother, Howard Weiderman, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Wade Wells and Scott Wells; sister, Linda Frye; brothers, Theodore Frye, Jr., Robert Frye, Henry Frye and David Frye. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
